Failed Levy Will Lead to Cuts

I was disappointed when the Hilliard City School District’s levy failed on March 4, but I was not surprised. Both with a lack of information and the recent union negotiations, the voters had seemingly little motivation to increase their taxes. As a student at Hilliard Davidson, I know why we need the money, but that is not the reason for this article. The reason is, with the money now not available, there are going to be cuts. We, the public, can only predict what these cuts are going to be, but we do have to prepare ourselves to face some difficult circumstances.

Primaries are not the Election

I have surveyed the primaries in the 2008 Presidential Election, those around the country and the one in Ohio on March 4, with special interest. There seems to be new motivation behind the presidential election, which has been notably lacking in the past decade. Therefore, it seems necessary to bring up that the political primaries are not the Presidential Election.

Soo.... Smart Car - Smart, Safe, or Sucks?

This entry comes after a heated debate with someone about the Smart car's integrety - is the Smart safe, fuel effecient, practical, etc. The individual was making assertions that the car is a "death trap", that it's a "three cylinder engine and gets horrible gas mileage", and essentially treating me like I know nothing about what I am talking about. What started out as some playful teasing, quickly turned into a debate, and ultimately the removal of the original post that instigated the initial discussion.

Why Delivering Paper Routes Suck

Why does delivering papers suck soo much!?!

One would suspect that it might be because of the weather. Unpredictable, untimely, Ohio weather. One minute it's nice out, the next it's pouring rain, the next it's snowing, the next it's sleeting, etc. Over and over and over and over again. Doesn't matter what the forecast is the night before when you go to bed, cause when you wake up, it's shitty out in some fashion or another. I mean seriously, you never go to bed when it's shitty out and then wake up and to your surprise it is nice out - nope, that would never happen. So the weather, that's the weather.

It criminalizes production and dissemination of technology, devices, or services that are used to circumvent measures that control access to copyrighted works (commonly known as DRM) and criminalizes the act of circumventing an access control, even when there is no infringement of copyright itself. It also heightens the penalties for copyright infringement on the Internet. Passed on October 12, 1998 by a unanimous vote in the United States Senate and signed into law by President Bill Clinton on October 28, 1998, the DMCA amended title 17 of the U.S. Code to extend the reach of copyright, while limiting the liability of Online Providers from copyright infringement by their users.

Spoon River Anthology:

(Taken directly from www.davidsontheatre.com)

Based upon the poems of Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology, the play is ultimately about life, not death. As one of the characters articulate lates in the show, "It takes life to love life," and that is perhaps the best message to take away. This play will force you to examine the lives of its characters and perhaps encourage you to look at your own life more closely as well - from a theatre review by Matthew Murray.

GNC: Encouraging Pill Popping?

Okay, so I just got home from rehearsal and I am watching Tv. A commercial comes on:

"Pop a pack! Pop a vita-pack from GNC! Our vita-packs are suited for all kinds of people! Athletes, or just pure health! Pop a Pack!!!"

Well you can just imagine my suprise when I heard this! I really think that GNC needs to make it clear in their commercial that they do not encourage pill popping or any other irresponsible activity like it.
